74th Annual Conference

The Mitchell Hochberg Memorial Public Education Event on Wednesday evening is the kick-off event for the Conference which is held on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, March 9-11; the Conference is composed of several formats, including courses, open sessions, limited registration workshops and special presentations on a variety of topics.

Special Plenary Presentations

Wednesday evening, March 8, 6:30-7:45 pm: Mitchell Hochberg Memorial Public Education Event: Jennifer Freyd, PhD will discuss, "Institutional Betrayal in Cases of Sexual Violence."

Thursday morning, March 9, 8:30-9:45 am:  Conference Opening Plenary Address: Paul Wachtel, PhD will kick-off the Conference in this opening address, "Cyclical Psychodynamics and Group Psychotherapy: Understanding People in Context."

Friday morning, March 10, 8:30-9:45 am:  Annual Anne and Ramon Alonso Plenary Address: Elisabeth Rohr, PhD will address, "Humanity on the Move - Groups Too?"

Courses: These courses are designed to cover a variety of topics in-depth; one-day courses meet in two sections for one full day. Participants must attend all sessions in order to receive continuing education credits. (See links below for session details.)
Continuing Education: One-day: 5 credits/.5 units 


Open Sessions (300 series): These meetings will be presented in a variety of formats, including panels, papers and demonstrations. Audience participation and exchange with the presenters is encouraged. (See links below for session details.)
Continuing Education: 2.5 credits/.25 units


Early Morning Open Sessions (200 Series): 
These events will be presented on specialized areas of interest for the group therapist. (See links below for session details.)
Continuing Education: 1 credit/.1 unit


Workshops (1-100 Series): 
All-day and half-day meetings provide a context in which participants exchange information among themselves and with the chairperson. These meetings are designed for varying levels of experience including master workshops for senior clinicians. (See links below for session details.)
Continuing Education: All-day: 5 credits/.5 units; Half-day: 2.5 credits/.25 units


90-Minute Events: 
These sessions are presented as open sessions and workshops and are scheduled on Friday afternoon of the Conference. (See links below for session details.)
Continuing Education: 1.5 credits/.15 units
