Child Group
Psychotherapy: Best Practices in Private Practice

Children's groups within a private
practice can be particularly difficult to run and maintain. This
workshop will teach the 'basics' of running such a group. Topics
will include: membership, logistics, and games. Participants will
have an opportunity to discuss case material and experience play
activities typical of a children's group.

The attendee will be able to:
1. Identify the
different stages of group development.
2. Cite group
membership issues including cohesion, selection, and scapegoating
3. Explain how
to manage countertransferencial and transferencial issues within the
group.
