Group as
a Transformational Space: Building a Systems-Oriented Context for
Creative Play
Chair:
Katherine A.
Straznickas, Ph.D.,

Medicine, San Francisco, California
Creativity bridges
differences in unexpected ways. Participants in this workshop will
test the hypothesis that by deliberately increasing attunement and
cohesion, the group as a whole will release the creativity of its
members. Collaborative artistic projects will emerge from this
process, culminating in a brief performance by the end of the
workshop.
Experiential,
didactic, sharing of work experiences, demonstration
Learning
Objectives:
The attendee will
be able to:
1. Describe the
hypothesized relationship between attunement and creativity.
2. Identify group
environmental factors which promote a context of support for its
members.
3. Differentiate
between explicit and implicit group goals.
4. Utilize
functional subgrouping as a method for managing differences
productively.
