Bridging the Gender Gap:  A Countertransference Workshop

Mars and Venus? We will examine participants’ gender biases by exploring the impact of same and opposite gender parents and siblings on the group leader.  This workshop will be primarily experiential.  Participants will investigate their relationships and gender issues via writing exercises, kinetic family drawings and group process.

Learning Objectives:

The attendee will be able to:

1. Recognize gender related countertransference.

2. Distinguish different reactions to male and female patients.

3. Evaluate the therapist’s contribution to a therapeutic impasse related to gender bias.

4. Define the term sexual harassment in group interaction.
