Men and Women: Separate and Together (Understanding and Bridging the Differences)

Men and women often approach issues from differing perspectives. This workshop will expose participants to a model of single gender groups with the opportunity to examine the dissimilarities between genders. Subsequently, the groups will be combined providing an opportunity to experience the impact and the capacity for bridging differences.

Demonstration-experiential-didactic-sharing of work experiences

 

Learning Objectives:

The attendee will be able to:

1. Discuss the research and theory regarding men and women's behavior in single gendered groups.

2. Discuss the research and theory regarding men and women's behavior in mixed-gender groups.

3. Predict the similarities and differences in the functioning of men and women in single gendered groups.

4. Estimate the impact on group participation of combining men and women in groups.
