Intensive Cognitive Behavioral Group Therapy for Sever Obsessive
Compulsive Disorder

This presentation
describes an intensive cognitive behavioral group therapy (CBGT) for
severe obsessive-compulsive disorder and other anxiety disorders.
The CBGT is delivered within the context of a therapeutic milieu
based on cognitive-behavioral principles. Case illustrations are
used to highlight some of the CBGT interventions and preliminary
efficacy data is presented.

1. Identify key
features of effective Cognitive Behavioral Group Therapy.
2. Describe
habituation, hierarchy and exposure-response prevention as it is
utilized in the treatment of Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder.

that group therapy may enhance the efficacy of exposure and response
prevention.
