Group Therapy for Schizophrenic Patients

Strategies for treating schizophrenic patients in therapy groups will be discussed using an integrative approach.  A brief literature review, support from the leader's research, and clinical vignettes and demonstrations will be presented.  Participants will be invited to share their experiences.

Learning Objectives:

The attendee will be able to:

1. Discuss the effectiveness of group therapy for schizophrenic patients.

2. Describe clinical strategies for leading such groups.

3. Conduct such groups in a variety of setting (inpatient, long-term outpatient, short-term time-limited outpatient)
