Utilizing the Group to Facilitate Psychological First Aid

Psychological First Aid (PFA) has been endorsed as one of the "best practices" in the acute stage of disaster.  Given the impact of disaster on work, school and military and first responder groups, this workshop will explain, demonstrate and train participants in the application of Group Psychological First Aid.

Experiential-demonstration-didactic-sharing of work experiences

 

Learning Objectives:

The attendee will be able to:

1. Offer at least three goals for intervening in the immediate aftermath of trauma.

2. Identify the overall components of Group Psychological First Aid.

3. Identify three risks of adverse iatrogenesis associated with group intervention in the acute aftermath of disaster.
