Body and Earth in Group Therapy

This presentation focuses on how integrated movement and psychoeducational groups can help clients find their creative voices through movement, speaking and writing. This group work helps clients become more fully-embodied, present, connected to themselves, the earth, and others and enriched by complex layers of perception. Includes communication/defenses, perception, digestion, & body systems.

 

Learning Objectives:

The attendee will be able to:

1. Integrate ideas from Authentic Movement and/or psychoeducational pieces into work with groups and individual clients.

2. Design psychoeducational groups with experiential components.

3. Explain how awareness of self, body, and environment can be developed in a group therapy format.
