This open session will focus on group work with adolescents in a variety of contexts in which this work occurs, such as clinics, schools, hospital-based services and residential treatment.  Topics covered will include the basics of setting up groups, adolescent developmental tasks, transference-countertransference as well as tailoring the clients' needs to the setting.

 

Learning Objectives: 

The attendee will be able to:

1. Master the basics of setting up groups for adolescents.

2. Identify the developmental issues involved in work with this population.

3. Tailor the needs of the clients to a given setting.
