The
presentation will consist of a “Group Supervision” Session attended
by seven group therapists. Topics and issues relevant to working
with GLBT clients in group therapy will be the focus. Providing
referrals for potential group clients, out of group client contact
and maintaining confidentiality between members are examples of
issues related to support groups and psychotherapy groups that will
be discussed during the supervision presentation.
Learning
Objectives:
The attendee will
be able to:
1. Identify areas of specific concern to GLBT group members.
2.
Determine the best referral options for GLBT clients who are
interested in joining a group.
3. Understand the
challenges HIV+ group members face in a support group setting.
4. Predict
possible issues that may arise in transgender support groups.
