Treating Couples in Groups

 

Open to participants with less than four years of group psychotherapy experience.

The family is a group; it follow the Group Psychotherapy is a natural setting for treating couples. Explore with us the value of couples groups, how to establish and run a couples group, clinical implications for working this context. This workshop will include: didactic material, case study, experience a "couples group" and analyzing the process in small groups.

Learning Objectives:

The attendee will be able to:
1. Assess the appropriateness of a couple for a couples group.

2. Establish and conduct a successful couples group.

3. Analyze the effectiveness of the: couples' work in the group, the members' work in the group and the leader's work in the group.
