Redecision Therapy: A Brief, In-Depth Approach

Chair:

Vann Joines, Ph.D., CGP, President and Director, Southeast Institute for Group and Family Therapy, Chapel Hill, North Carolina

Redecision Therapy is a brief, in-depth approach that allows group members to quickly identify the early origin of their current difficulty and quickly work that through in order to free their spontaneous energy for present interactions.  This institute will be largely experiential in order to demonstrate the effectiveness of this approach.  The focus will be on learning how to pick up on unconscious communication, negotiate clear treatment contracts, and rapidly facilitate change.

experiential, didactic, demonstration, sharing of work experiences

Learning Objectives:

The attendee will be able to:
1. Bring to their clients' awareness the barriers they use to prevent their own change.

2. Negotiate effective contracts for change.

3. Help their clients to quickly identify the early origins of their difficulties and to work those through.
