Working Relationally in Group

 

Open to participants with more than ten years of group psychotherapy experience.

This workshop introduces key concepts from relational group psychotherapy:  authority of group's therapist's psychology; authenticity and the "two faces" of the group therapist; basic conflict regarding thinking; the 3 levels of the container-contained; bonding; "primal affects" (LHK); and "passion."  Followed by demonstration group and discussion.

Learning Objectives:

The attendee will be able to:
1. Construct and extend their understanding of relational theory.
2. Identify as well as experience various patterns of intrapsychic and group process: LHK, symbiotic, commensal, parasitic relations.
3. Evaluate a repertoire of therapeutic interventions in group situations.
