Group Psychological First Aid in the Aftermath of Disaster: A Training Course in a Group Model of Psychological First Aid

Psychological First Aid (PFA) has been endorsed as one of the “best practices” in the acute stage of disaster.  Given the impact of disaster on groups in the community, workplace, schools, military and among first responders, this workshop will explain, demonstrate and train participants in the application of Group Psychological First Aid.

Learning Objectives:

The attendee will be able to:
1. Define and offer at least two goals of Psychological First Aid.
2. Identify the overall components of Group Psychological First Aid.
3. Identify three risks of adverse iatrogenesis associated with group intervention in the acute aftermath of disaster.
