Body-Oriented Psychotherapy in Group

Bioenergetic
analysis brings psychodynamic thinking into the realm of the body.
When used in group treatment this approach helps deepen the group
process by making emotional experience more accessible and by
providing safe means for both discharge and containment. We will
discuss the development and use of theory, in addition to
experiencing the use of body orientation in group therapy. Wear
comfortable clothes.

Objectives:
The attendee will
be able to:
1. Cite more about Reich's early work and how he expanded Freud's
theories into work with the body.
2. Apply guidelines for when to or not touch a client.
3. Appraise their own energetic movement and see how it relates to
self awareness.
4. Discuss more about Conflict Theory and how it relates to
character development and see how it extends into the body.
5. Practice ways to provide containment and safety in a group.
