Beyond Process: Techniques that Reduce Defenses and Develop Group Climate

 

Open to participants with less than four years of group psychotherapy experience.

This workshop will present the rational for using techniques and activities in group counseling and psychotherapy to develop therapeutic factors. Participants will experience three techniques: photoTherapy, bibliotherapy, and cards that contribute to the reduction of defenses and stress and create a playful and supportive climate.

The attendee will be able to:

1. Identify populations for whom techniques may be helpful.
2. Learn the techniques.
3. Apply techniques in their work when necessary.
