Metaphor, Stories and Doubt in Group Therapy

four years of group psychotherapy experience
This workshop
includes a didactic and an experiential component as a means of
understanding and utilizing the importance of metaphor in creating
change in groups. An emphasis will be put on how metaphor is related
to desire and doubt, and how these relate to growth and resistance
in group work.

Learning
Objectives:
1.
Specify what types of metaphors are being used in groups.
2. Construct a working hypothesis to understand group functioning in
the moment
3. Contrast and critique several group therapy models according to
their use of metaphor.
