Contemporary Psychoanalytic Perspectives on Group Process

This session
will examine the application to group process of contemporary
psychoanalytic models of treatment, including intersubjective,
relational and dynamics systems theory. A short didactic
presentation will be followed by discussion.
Learning
Objectives:
The attendee will
be able to:
1. Describe the
application of intersubjective theories to group development and
process.
2. Discuss the
application of relational psychoanalytic models to transference and countertransference
in group therapy.
3. Integrate
non-linear dynamics systems theory with the concept of "Thirdness"
as it pertains to group process.
