Leadership Dilemmas in Group Psychotherapy: A Consultation Group

Open to participants with less than four years of group psychotherapy experience

 

The participants in this half day workshop will be invited to share their experiences, the dilemmas they have encountered, and receive input from others.  The leader will demonstrate her group consultation model and assist participants in examining their leadership styles as well as analyzing their own involvement in group dilemmas.  Two possible dilemmas for leaders might be: containing the monopolizing participant and facilitating the resolution of conflict among members of the group.

Learning Objectives:

The attendee will be able to:

1. Identify leadership dilemmas in group therapy and resolve them.

2. Utilize the group consultation model.

3. Demonstrate their leadership style and examine their own role in group dilemmas.
