Promoting Affect Development Within an Integrated Model of Group
Psychotherapy

After
surveying existing models of group psychotherapy which conceptualize
the group process in terms of the individual, interpersonal and
group-as-a-whole dynamics, the workshop will demonstrate the
therapist's role in promoting and exploring the expression of affect
in each of the stages of the group's life cycle.

Objectives:
The attendee will be able to:
1. Identify
the primary affects of focus during each of the stages of group
development.
2. Utilize an
integrated model of group psychotherapy in making meaningful
interventions. Promote affect development within a developmental
perspective.
