LivingDance~LivingMusic: Generating Integrated Relationships to Self and Others

Participants will work with elements of dance movement they had access to in kindergarten, live music, and “witnessing” to engage the integrated relationships to self and others that lay the foundation for building community. Connections between LivingDance~LivingMusic and group processes are addressed experientially, theoretically, and developmentally. Training or talent not necessary.

Learning Objectives:

The attendee will be able to:

1. Detect how attention to the combination of breath and muscle connectivity —somato respiratory integration™— relates to affect and the sense of self.

2. Evaluate how attention to shape, the kinesthetic sense of the body boundary affects relationships between and among group members.

3. Discuss how the interactions among dance movement, music, and the art of witnessing in LivingDance~LivingMusic foster communication and group cohesion.
