Workshop 61
Sex and
Death: Countertransference Considerations Regarding Aging and Older
Adults
Presented
under the auspices of the AGPA Geriatric SIG
Chair:
Marc G.
Schramm, Psy.D., CGP, Private Practice, Hilliard, Ohio
Life-transitions associated with aging arouse powerful
countertransference over loss, mortality, and general existential
angst--about our own lives, and in reaction to members of our
groups. Positive countertransference also occurs. In this workshop
we
will explore
the impact such issues have on us, and the use of our
countertransference reactions to enhance our groups.
