This workshop
will present the tenets of mindfulness. Participants will be able
to apply a mindfulness practice in their personal and professional
roles and facilitate mindfulness meditation groups in a variety of
settings including college counseling centers, inpatient hospitals
and private practice.

Learning
Objectives:
The attendee will be able to:
1. Become
familiar with the benefits of meditation in working with clients who
present with depression, anxiety, and/or chronic pain.
2. Identify the
value of having a personal practice prior to facilitating
mindfulness meditation groups.
3. Understand the
steps needed to begin facilitating a mindfulness meditation group
and utilize the research to support the benefits gained through the
practice.
