Building Lasting Couple Relationships Through Separate Group Therapy for Each Partner

The utilization of group therapy as a community for enhancing relationship skills, resolving early wounds and creating empathy for partners will be demonstrated and discussed.  Power struggles in the couple and in group will be addressed by the combination of group process with Imago Relationship Therapy.

Learning Objectives:

The attendee will be able to:

1. Cite three rules for emotional safety that help build lasting couple relationships.

2. Specify two curative factors of group therapy that ameliorate relationships in the group, in the couple and in the community.

3. Describe two techniques the group therapist can employ to constructively address projective gridlocks in the couple, in the group and in the community.
