Group
therapists in college counseling centers and other clinics too
frequently encounter organizational resistance to referring clients
to groups. Workshop leaders will share some creative approaches to
building group-supportive cultures and use small groups to help
participants generate their own creative solutions and share these
with the larger group.

Objectives:
The attendee will be able to:
1. Identify four
or more broad approaches to increasing internal referrals to groups.
2. Learn several
specific ideas that other counseling centers have used successfully
to increase internal referrals to groups.
3. Participate in
developing
at least one new way to promote counseling groups in one’s own
center or clinic.
