Psychodynamic and career counseling perspectives can be effectively
combined to create short-term or drop-in group treatment programs to
help clients navigate life and career transitions successfully.
These techniques were developed to target the entertainment
industry, but have relevance to groups in general, especially to
stimulate deeper exploration of issues and shifts in thinking and
action.
Learning Objectives:
The attendee will be able to:
1. Assess the developmental stages of life and career transition
needs.
2. Identify strategic approaches in breaking down barriers to change.
3. Integrate cognitive behavioral exercises with process-oriented
content.
4. Design action plans to assist group members in moving forward in
their identified goals.
