The National Registry of Certified Group Psychotherapists is issuing this RFP for the development of a new Principles of Group Psychotherapy curriculum.

In response to this RFP, please provide a detailed outline of your proposed curriculum. The final curriculum will be expected to include:

  • A current bibliography with updated references

  • A comprehensive curriculum guide that integrates relevant research and includes Evidence-Based practices

  • An accompanying Power Point presentation

  • A continuing education evaluation component (questions at the end of each module)

  • Experiential components that highlight the material presented (e.g., discussion of case examples, simulations, etc.)

  • A multimedia component that demonstrates basic group interventions/techniques (DVD and/or web-based content)

While this curriculum should build on the existing Principles of Group Psychotherapy course (AGPA, 2006), it must provide a ‘user friendly’ format that is clear and concise. It should include a presentation of a broad array of theoretical orientations and must address Evidence-Based Practices.

The curriculum must be suitable for use as both an instructor guide and a participant manual. It is suggested that the curriculum be at least a 12-hour course divided into four or more modules that can each stand alone as a three-hour course.

Proposals are to be sent to the attention of the NRCGP Practice Development Committee and must be received by October 1, 2010. Electronic submission is required and will be acknowledged within 72 hours. Submissions are to be emailed to: drt@drtlsheppard.com and ekops@agpa.org.

If your proposal is accepted, you will have approximately six-eight months to complete the project. Fifty percent of the award sum will be granted upon acceptance of the proposal. The balance will be awarded upon acceptance of the submitted curriculum.

Honorarium: $2,500
The curriculum will be an AGPA educational product and will be made available for purchase as a faculty curriculum manual and as a course participant workbook.
